Cottle Knife: Double-Edged and Straight for Septal Incisions

The Cottle knife (15 cm) is a double-edged, straight knife for making septal incisions and elevating mucoperichondrial flaps during septoplasty and rhinoplasty. Both edges cut, so the surgeon can work in either direction.

A double-edged blade saves turning the instrument, which keeps the work smooth in the narrow nasal field. The straight shape gives a predictable line for incisions and for separating the mucosa from the cartilage.
