Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lewin bone holding forceps used for?

It grips small and medium bones, for example during hand and foot surgery.

What is Kern forceps used for?

Kern forceps have strong curved jaws for holding long bones during plate fixation.

How should bone holding forceps be cleaned and sterilized?

Rinse off blood and debris straight after use, clean manually or in an ultrasonic cleaner with a neutral-pH detergent, rinse and dry thoroughly, then steam sterilize in an autoclave. Open ratchets and joints during cleaning and sterilization, and lubricate hinges with instrument milk to keep them working smoothly.

Can I order bone holding forceps with my own brand?

Yes. We offer private-label (OEM) manufacturing with laser marking of your brand name and catalog numbers, custom packaging, and custom patterns made from your drawings or samples. Contact us for minimum order quantities.
