AUFRICHT Nasal Retractor, 13.5 cm - 5-3/8"

Lift the soft tissue envelope off the nasal bone and cartilage, and suddenly there's a clear sightline for rasping, osteotomy, or graft placement. That's the whole job of the AUFRICHT Nasal Retractor. Its defining feature is the slot cut into the blade—instead of a solid panel that would shadow exactly the area a surgeon needs to see, the slot lets overhead light through while the blade still holds skin safely out of the way.

The Slot Solves a Real Visibility Problem

A solid retractor blade over the dorsum blocks the light right where it's needed most. This slotted design resolves that tension—tissue protection and unobstructed visual access, at the same time. It's part of why this pattern has stuck around as a dorsal-work standard for so long.

13.5 cm Matches Standard Dorsal Reach

Sized for the typical working distance from external incision to radix, without extra length that would crowd the field or interfere with in the way of the surgeon's other hand.

Protection While Working Near the Surface

Rasping and osteotomy both put instruments near the overlying skin. Holding that skin firmly out of the way reduces the risk of inadvertent superficial trauma while attention stays on the bone and cartilage underneath.

Open or Closed, Either Approach

Most closely associated with open rhinoplasty's direct dorsal exposure, the compact profile also works well for closed approaches whenever intranasal access benefits from a clearly lit surgical bed.

Related Rhinoplasty Instruments

The surgical instrument range has more where these options came from. Turn to the AUFRICHT Nasal Rasp for illuminated dorsal contouring once exposure is achieved, or the longer 7-inch AUFRICHT Nasal Retractor when a case calls for extra depth.
