Roux Retractors: Three Double-Ended Blades for Shallow Wounds

This Roux retractor set gives the assistant three double-ended hand retractors, six blade sizes in all, from 24 x 20 mm to 38 x 43 mm. Short, curved blades hold skin and subcutaneous tissue back in shallow incisions without crowding the surgeon's hands.

At the Table

Pick the blade that just covers the wound edge: too small and it slips, too large and it drags on the skin. Hold it flat to the tissue, keep the pull gentle, and turn the handle to bring the second size into play without a change of instrument.
