The Reverdin spatula is a 28 cm (11 inch) bayonet-shaped abdominal spatula that protects the bowel from the needle during fascial closure and rectus plication. It is a low-cost safeguard worth adding to every abdominal tray.

Bayonet Shape, Clear Suture Line

The broad, smooth blade slips beneath the fascia, while the bayonet offset keeps the handle and the assistant's hand out of the suture line.
